Nicely rounding off before the Holiday break, we were asked to manage the live audio production requirements of the Rio Ferdinand Live The Dream Foundation Launch. Held at The Old Billingsgate Market, this star studded party featured live performances from JLS, Ali Campbell, Addictive and an impromptu stage appearance by Ex Blue band member, Simon Webbe. Hosted by James Corden of Gavin and Stacy fame, the charity auction raised over a quarter of a million pounds for the foundation. |

Late November saw us back at Alexandra Palace again for the inaugural launch of the Spirit of London Awards. The awards, celebrating the fantastic youth of our city were organised by the Damilola Taylor trust on the ninth anniversary of the ten-year-old’s death in Peckham. Hosted by Brooke Kinsella and Lemar, the show featured headline performances by Alexandra Burke, Lemar, Speech Debelle, Robbie Craig and the ACM Gospel Choir, Ashley Walters, Miss Frank, DJ Ironik and the dance troupe Diversity.

Arc Sound supplied and installed a full audio system into the O2 Brixton Academy back in early November for the Greater London Authority’s people’s question time meeting hosted by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. Despite having worked on many music concert productions in the venue, this particular event threw up its own set of technical challenges, requiring that every member of the assembly be heard clearly in every one of the Academy’s 2500 seats. A further 8 hand held radio microphones were dispensed to allow audience members to present questions to the assembly panel. In addition to providing a clear coherent house mix for the audience, these feeds were additionally mixed and fed out to live TV and Radio broadcast. |

Mega Jam for T-Mobile Ad

We were called on to provide a live audio production solution, with associated equipment support, during filming of the current T Mobile advert featuring Josh Ward and the Lightyears. The synopsis of the advert had Josh gather several hundred random band mates to London’s Leadenhall market, where, with the assistance of several members of the Lightyears, they had an en-masse jam along, whilst being filmed and recorded for the current TV advert! |

Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt |

Strings of Freedom. One of India’s great classical maestros and Grammy Award Winner Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt performed a rare Mohan Veena concert at Kensington Town Hall. We supplied a full package of audio and multi-track recording equipment comprising ground stacked VerTec, Vi series console and ADAT HD24 multitrack hard disc recorders. Mixing the show, James Dougill specified Schoeps, AKG and BeyerDynamic microphones to capture the detail and presence of these classical Indian Instruments, additionally providing broadcast mixes for the BBC Asian network and Zee TV. |

Twilight Ball |

Arc Sound’s lighting department designed and installed a package of both intelligent and generic lighting for the Twilight Ball, held on Halloween at Kensington Town hall. The black tie event in aid of the Children with Aids Charity was hosted by actress and TV personality, Leah Charles. |
Mitie Senior management Conference |

In late September we provided a full audio production solution to the annual Mitie conference. The brief allocated an event turn around time, from load in to load out of exactly 24 hours! Within this time frame, all staging, set, lighting, video, audio and backline would need to be loaded in and ready for the conference to begin at 0900 sharp. On completion of the conference phase at 1700, the entire venue would be turned around into a winter wonderland themed evening ball. Evening entertainment comprised a dozen or so live cabaret performances, and live 12 piece function band, all requiring sound-check’s and stage management, to be ready for the guests returning for a black tie dinner at 1900! |

We installed and operated a full package of audio, monitors, communication, back-line and DJ equipment for the event. Obviously, we’re very proud to have been involved in bringing this fantastic event to life.

Gibson Hall Charity Quiz |

We donated a package of audio equipment and staging for the annual Havens Hospices Insurance Industry charity quiz evening at Gibson Hall. The event was compared by Richard Palmer, with a guest appearance by Rachel Riley. |

Christopher Howard BTS London Seminar |

This neat little YouTube video shows some of our equipment in use at a recent Christopher Howard Breakthrough To Success seminar weekend at the IBIS hotel in Earls Court. These events regularly draw audiences in excess of 1300 people, and require the audio system to provide sufficient propagation and headroom for sound sources as quiet as a whisper through to pop concert volume.
